Americanna Magness
As a native of Branson, Americanna Magness, brings her passion for the arts and all things Branson to the Arts Council. Attending school in Branson all her life, she and husband, Tom, moved to Wichita, Kansas to raise three children after their graduation from Branson High School in 1960 and Tom's graduation from the University of Arkansas in 1964. She worked at Wichita High School South for 18 years as a clerk in the attendance office and the guidance center before retiring in 1997. Returning "home" to the area she loves so much she enjoys living in her cabin on Table Rock Lake. An avid patron of the arts, she became involved with the Branson Arts Council almost immediately. She served on the Board of Directors for four years, before leaving the Board as the bylaws require. She has been Vice President of the BAC and has served in several capacities on the Board. She is past president of the Taneyhills Community Library Club having served from 2006-2008. Her interest in books prompted her to serve on the Library Board in some position for thirteen years. She serves on the Board of Deacons at First Presbyterian Church and is involved in all activities at the church with an emphasis on the worship and music ministries. She sings in the choir at First Presbyterian and performs solos and ensemble work as requested. For the past 13 years, she has been in charge of the Old Stone Church Concerts at First Presbyterian's old church in conjunction with the Arts Council. She served as President of Blossoms of Branson for several years until the organization's dissolution in 2010. Involved describes her best...in the arts and in the community.
